| # | Track Title | Explanation |
|---|---|---|
The Lake Reflects a Black Sky | A darker version of the working title, "Glassy Lake," named after the impression of the solo piano part.
The Art of It | A more ambiguous reference to Bach's "The Art of Fugue," given the song's focus on informal counterpoint.
Rail Twinge | Things on rails move fast. When they hit you, you may feel a twinge. Something like that.
Back Stalk | Short for "The Flower Stalk Out Back of the Factory after a Disaster," specifically the factory in 2020 that is now Garver Green.
Superior Intermedial | Staring into lake Superior during a difficult middle of one's life, also in 2020.
Snowboard Index | This song uses a melody written while at a snowboard and winter gear exchange circa 2016. The melody is always indexed as the snowboard memory.
Winter's Mortal Hope | One particular winter circa 2022 had short-lived hope for breaking the cycle, while often listing to an old version of this son.
Transpiration | An obscure synonym for "happening." Things do happen.
Revelation of your Forever | A reference to a famous JCS video, "What Pretending to be Crazy Looks Like" and the specific lines "A visibly frightening realization will engulf the suspect from that point forward. It's essentially the very beginning of retribution. The detective introduces him to the rest of his life at this moment." It may be a relatable feeling.
